Frontline Perspectives: Saskatchewan and B.C. Credit Unions 2024 Earnings Round-Up

About This Event

Earnings diverged in 2024 for our rated credit unions in Saskatchewan compared to those in British Columbia. As expected, asset quality deteriorated in both B.C. and Saskatchewan in 2024, although credit metrics in both provinces, particularly B.C., remain relatively solid.

The ongoing trade conflict has introduced significant macroeconomic uncertainty and poses potential material downside risk to credit quality. However, we view the credit unions as generally well positioned with sound liquidity, stable funding, and strong capital levels.

Join us for a conversation on the 2024 earnings round-up for Canadian credit unions, as we discuss variance in performance amongst credit unions, impacts of the current macroeconomic environment, and our outlook on the earnings and credit performance through the rest of 2025.
