Co-operators General Insurance Company (CGIC or the Company) is the property and casualty insurance business of Co-operators Financial Services Limited (CFSL), a subsidiary of The Co-operators Group Limited (the Group), which is owned by a diverse group of 45 Canadian co-operatives. The Company is the fourth-largest general insurance company in Canada in terms of direct written premiums (YE2017). CGIC provides specialized credit union insurance programs; travel insurance; automobile, farm and commercial insurance; and personal property (home) insurance cover to individuals and mid-market businesses using a well-established diversified channel distribution strategy through exclusive brokers, advisors and direct sales.
