PowerStream is the second-largest municipally-owned electricity distribution company in Ontario, with over 350,000 customers. Its service franchise areas include Barrie, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and other communities located north of Toronto and in Central Ontario. PowerStream is currently 45% owned by the City of Vaughan, 34% by the City of Markham and 21% by the City of Barrie.
