Baytex Energy Trust is an oil and gas royalty trust, with an emphasis on heavy oil. It operates primarily in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Baytex Energy Trust was formed in 2003 with the completion of a Plan of Arrangement whereby Baytex Energy Limited became a subsidiary of Baytex Energy Trust.
