DBRS Publishes Rating Report on New Century Financial Corp.

Dominion Bond Rating Service (DBRS) has today issued a rating report on New Century Financial Corporation (the Company). The report discusses the rationale behind DBRS’s ratings of the Company. DBRS is releasing this report subsequent to a detailed review of the Company’s operating results and financial fundamentals.

DBRS assigned a BB Issuer Rating for the Company on June 1, 2006. The trend is Stable.

Issuer ratings apply to all general senior unsecured obligations of the issuer in question.
