DBRS Discontinues Ratings of Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc.
ConsumersDBRS has today discontinued the ratings of Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. (Anheuser-Busch or the Company).
The action follows InBev’s announcement on November 18, 2008 that it had completed the acquisition of Anheuser-Busch following approval from shareholders of both companies and clearance of all regulatory requirements. Effective November 18, 2008, InBev changed its name to Anheuser-Busch InBev, and Anheuser-Busch became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev.
Anheuser-Busch’s DBRS ratings were placed Under Review with Negative Implications on June 12, 2008, after InBev’s original announcement of its bid to buy all outstanding shares of Anheuser-Busch.
DBRS was not in a position to resolve the Under Review status of its ratings on Anheuser-Busch prior to discontinuing as it did not rate InBev and does not currently rate Anheuser-Busch InBev. The discontinuation of the ratings on Anheuser-Busch is not connected with the Under Review situation.
The applicable methodology is Rating Consumer Products, which can be found on our website under Methodologies.
This is a Corporate rating.
