DBRS has today published a commentary on the impact had by the restructuring of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) on today’s automotive sector. “Chrysler’s bankruptcy and the ongoing restructuring at GM are expected to have a significant impact on the North American auto industry, not only for other OEMs, but also for the supply base, the debt holders and the dealer network,” says Robert Streda, Vice President of Industrials.

The commentary examines changing market share trends, auto parts supply issues, possible production difficulties, and the potential impact on other DBRS-rated auto sector issuers.

DBRS will be holding a teleconference at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, May 22, 2009, on the OEM restructurings. The teleconference will feature Robert Streda, Vice President of Industrials, and Kam Hon, Managing Director of Industrials.
