DBRS Publishes 2009 U.S. Banking Statistical Handbook

DBRS has today published its eighth U.S. Banking Statistical Handbook. In addition to DBRS bank ratings, the handbook provides five years of summary financial information for the largest 506 bank holding companies, thrifts and commercial banks in the United States.

The handbook provides a wealth of information on each financial institution based on DBRS analysis of regulatory reports. For each individual bank, 50 data elements are displayed for the years 2004 to 2009. Data sections include balance sheet data, income statement data, balance sheet ratios, income statement ratios, capital ratios, liquidity ratios, credit quality ratios and loan portfolio distributions. All U.S. regulated bank holding companies with more than $1 billion in assets along with thrifts and commercial banks with more than $5 billion in assets are included in the handbook.

For ease of use, the handbook is alphabetized by company name and also includes an alphabetical index and an index by asset size.

Future editions of the handbook will be published on an annual basis.
