DBRS Releases Methodologies Providing Insight into DBRS Rating Process

DBRS has today released methodologies for rating companies in the North American trucking industry, North American railway industry and the services industry.

The publication of these methodologies is part of an undertaking to update all of DBRS’s corporate methodologies or expand on the industries covered in the coming months. The purpose of this plan is to provide market participants with additional insight into the rationale behind DBRS’s rating opinions in a transparent fashion and, as such, rating changes due specifically to the updated methodologies are not expected.

In addition to general business and financial risk considerations, the methodologies review a number of industry-specific rating considerations and outline key financial metrics used in DBRS analysis of individual entities within each sector.

DBRS has taken no rating actions as a result of the publication of these methodologies.
