DBRS Assigns Rating of BBB (high), Stable, to Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P.’s New Issues

DBRS has today assigned a rating of BBB (high) with a Stable trend to Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P.’s (KMP) $375 million 4.15% Senior Notes due March 1, 2022, and $375 million 5.625% Senior Notes due September 1, 2041 (collectively, the Notes). The issues are expected to settle on August 17, 2011.

The Notes will rank equally with all of KMP’s existing and future unsecured and unsubordinated indebtedness. DBRS notes that the net proceeds from the offering will be used to repay KMP’s short-term debt and for general corporate purposes.
