DBRS Finalizes Provisional Rating of A (low), Stable on CIBC’s Non-Viability Contingent Capital Subordinated Debt

DBRS has today finalized its provisional rating of A (low) on Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce’s (the Bank or CIBC) Debentures (subordinated indebtedness) due 2024 (NVCC Sub Debt). The trend is Stable.

Following the review of documentation associated with the recent offering, DBRS has confirmed that the terms of the issuance are consistent with those reviewed at the time the provisional rating was assigned on October 21, 2014. The aggregate gross proceeds from the NVCC Sub Debt totalled $1 billion. Net proceeds from the issuance will be used for general purposes.
