DBRS Releases Updated Sovereign Rating Methodology

DBRS has today released an updated version of its methodology entitled Rating Sovereign Governments. The purpose of this methodology is to explain the criteria that DBRS uses in issuing ratings on sovereign governments, and to provide market participants with insight into the rationale behind DBRS’s rating opinions in a transparent manner.

Some changes were made to the text and appendices to update the methodology in line with minor changes made to DBRS’ sovereign scorecard and debt sustainability analysis. The revisions do not have any substantive impact on the methodology and will not affect any existing ratings.
