DBRS Publishes Construction and Property Development Corporate Finance Methodology on a Request for Comment Basis

DBRS is requesting comments on the methodology entitled Rating Companies in the Construction and Property Development Industry (the New Methodology). The New Methodology retains virtually all of the content of the methodology Rating Companies in the Engineering and Construction Industry, published in April 2016, with only minor clarifications that DBRS does not consider to be material.

The New Methodology also adds an entirely new second section addressing residential and commercial property developers. This is a material addition to the methodology, but DBRS does not currently rate any companies in this sector.

Ratings that are currently provided using the methodology Rating Companies in the Engineering and Construction Industry will use the New Methodology upon completion of the request for comment process. No ratings are expected to change as a result of this change in usage of methodologies.
