DBRS Publishes Updated Rating Canadian Split Share Companies and Trusts Methodology

DBRS Limited (DBRS) has today published an updated version of its methodology “Rating Canadian Split Share Companies and Trusts” (the Methodology).

The updated version supersedes the previous version published on June 29, 2016. While certain details have been clarified in the methodology, DBRS deems the changes to not be material and has determined that no ratings are, or will be, changed as a result of these updates.

The Methodology presents the current DBRS approach for assigning and monitoring a rating on a preferred share issuance from a Canadian split share company or trust.
