DBRS Publishes Updated Oil and Gas and Oilfield Services Methodology

DBRS published a corporate methodology titled “Rating Companies in the Oil and Gas and Oilfield Services Industries.” This methodology supersedes and replaces the previous version of the methodology that was last updated in August 2017.

While changes overall are not substantive, the updated version includes the addition of a business risk factor titled “Market Position” that addresses the competitive position of a downstream operator’s slate of product offerings within the markets it serves.

Overall, DBRS has determined that no ratings will change as a result of this update.
