DBRS Publishes Updated “Rating Mortgage Insurance Companies” Methodology

DBRS has today published an updated “Rating Mortgage Insurance Companies” methodology.

This update supersedes the previous version published in January 2018. While minor changes have been made to language concerning regulatory updates and premium rate increases by CMHC in the Canadian mortgage insurance market, DBRS deems the changes to not be material and has determined that no ratings are or will be changed as a result of these updates.
