DBRS Publishes Final Global Insurance Methodology

DBRS finalized its “Global Methodology for Rating Life and P&C Insurance Companies and Insurance Organizations” (the Methodology) after the closure of a public request for comment (RFC) period that ended August 22, 2019.

The Methodology presents the criteria for which insurance company and insurance organization ratings are assigned and/or monitored.

The Methodology supersedes the prior version published on January 3, 2019, and is effective as of September 16, 2019.

DBRS deems the update not to be material and has determined that no ratings are expected to change as a result of this update.

All comments received during the RFC period have been published to the DBRS website, except in cases where confidentiality is requested by the respondent.
