DBRS Morningstar Publishes Final Casino and Online Gaming Methodology

DBRS Morningstar finalized its updated “Rating Casino Operators and Companies in the Online Gaming Industry” methodology (the Methodology), which was published on October 29, 2019, on a request for comment basis.

The Methodology presents the criteria for which for which casino operator and online gaming company ratings are assigned and/or monitored. The changes to the Methodology expand the scope to include coverage of online gaming companies in addition to casino operators as described more fully in the press release published on October 29, 2019. The Methodology supersedes the prior version published in October 2018 and is effective as of December 10, 2019.

No comments were received by DBRS Morningstar during the request for comment process; therefore the methodology remains as published on October 29, 2019.

All comments received during the request for comment period have been published to the DBRS Morningstar website, except in cases where confidentiality is requested by the respondent.
