DBRS Morningstar Discontinues Ratings on NewDay Funding 2017-1 plc

DBRS Ratings Limited (DBRS Morningstar) discontinued its ratings on the Class A, B, C, D, E, and F Notes issued by NewDay Funding 2017-1 plc.

The discontinuation reflects the full redemption of the notes at the payment date on 15 July 2020. Prior to their repayment, the outstanding principal balance on the notes and their ratings were as follows:

-- GBP 125,000,000 Class A Notes rated at AAA (sf)
-- GBP 19,250,000 Class B Notes rated at AA (high) (sf) UR-Neg.
-- GBP 28,250,000 Class C Notes rated at A (high) (sf) UR-Neg.
-- GBP 35,500,000 Class D Notes rated at BBB (sf) UR-Neg.
-- GBP 19,750,000 Class E Notes rated at BB (sf) UR-Neg.
-- GBP 16,500,000 Class F Notes rated at B (high) (sf) UR-Neg.

The principal methodology applicable to the rating is “Master European Structured Finance Surveillance Methodology” (22 April 2020).

In DBRS Morningstar’s opinion, a discontinued-repaid rating action does not warrant the application of the entire principal methodology, as the bond has been repaid in full.
