ESG Factors for Companies in the Pipeline and Diversified Energy Industry

This commentary addresses the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risk factors that could affect ratings on companies in the pipeline and diversified energy industry. Of the 17 ESG risk factors identified, there are 10 relevant factors that can be applied to corporate issuers when using the DBRS Morningstar methodology “Rating Companies in the Pipeline and Diversified Energy Industry.” In this commentary, we address the 10 relevant risk factors and provide examples of how they could affect credit ratings for issuers in this industry.
