ESG Factors in the Construction and Property Development Industry

On February 3, 2021, DBRS Morningstar published DBRS Morningstar Criteria: Approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance Risk Factors in Credit Ratings. Of the 17 factors identified in the criteria, there are nine relevant factors that can be applied to corporate issuers when using DBRS Morningstar’s methodology Rating Companies in the Construction and Property Development Industry. This commentary examines the relevant factors and discusses key analytical considerations in assigning or monitoring credit ratings for companies in the construction and property development industry.
