DBRS Morningstar Discontinues Rating on Cardiff Auto Receivables Securitisation 2018-1 plc
AutoDBRS Ratings Limited (DBRS Morningstar) discontinued its rating on the Class A Notes issued by Cardiff Auto Receivables Securitisation 2018-1 plc (the Issuer).
The discontinuation reflects the full repayment of the Class A Notes following the exercise of the Clean-Up Call Option by the Issuer at the payment date on 21 September 2021. Prior to their repayment, the rating of the Class A Notes was AAA (sf) with an outstanding principal balance of GBP 19,276,452.80.
The transaction is a securitisation of receivables related to hire purchase and personal contract purchase (PCP) agreements for new and used vehicles granted by Black Horse Limited to private borrowers in the United Kingdom. PCP agreements afford the borrower the option to turn in the purchased vehicle at contract maturity as an alternative to making a final balloon payment, exposing the Issuer to residual value risk. The entire portfolio consists of fixed-rate loans paying on a monthly basis.

In DBRS Morningstar’s opinion, a discontinued-repaid rating action does not warrant the application of the entire principal methodology, as the bond has been repaid in full.
