Press Release

DBRS Morningstar Upgrades Ratings on Asset-Backed European Securitisation Transaction Fourteen S.r.l.

Auto
April 20, 2022

DBRS Ratings GmbH (DBRS Morningstar) upgraded its ratings on the notes (together, the Rated Notes) issued by Asset-Backed European Securitisation Transaction Fourteen S.r.l. (the Issuer) as follows:

-- Class A Asset-Backed Fixed-Rate Notes (Class A Notes) upgraded to AAA (sf) from AA (high) (sf)
-- Class B Asset-Backed Fixed-Rate Notes (Class B Notes) upgraded to AA (high) (sf) from AA (low) (sf)
-- Class C Asset-Backed Fixed-Rate Notes (Class C Notes) upgraded to AA (sf) from A (sf)
-- Class D Asset-Backed Fixed-Rate Notes (Class D Notes) upgraded to A (low) (sf) from BBB (low) (sf)
-- Class E Asset-Backed Fixed-Rate Notes (Class E Notes) upgraded to BBB (sf) from BB (low) (sf)

The ratings on the Rated Notes address the timely payment of interest and the ultimate payment of principal on or before the legal final maturity date in April 2030.

The upgrades are based on the following analytical considerations:
-- Portfolio performance, in terms of delinquencies, defaults, and losses, as of the March 2022 payment date.
-- Probability of default (PD), loss given default (LGD), and expected loss assumptions on the receivables.
-- Current available credit enhancement to the Rated Notes to cover the expected losses at their respective rating levels.

The transaction, which closed in May 2016, is a securitisation of a portfolio of Italian auto loans originated and serviced by FCA Bank S.p.A., a 50/50 joint venture between FCA Italy S.p.A. (Stellantis N.V.) and Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance (Crédit Agricole S.A.). The loans were granted to individuals residing in Italy and enterprises with registered offices in Italy. The transaction had a revolving period that ended in April 2021. Following the end of the revolving period, the Rated Notes began to amortise from the May 2021 payment date.

PORTFOLIO PERFORMANCE
As of the March 2022 payment date, loans that were one to two months and two to three months delinquent represented 0.3% and 0.2% of the portfolio balance, respectively, while loans more than three months delinquent represented 0.1%. Gross cumulative defaults amounted to 0.6% of the aggregate original balance.

PORTFOLIO ASSUMPTIONS AND KEY DRIVERS
DBRS Morningstar updated its base case PD and LGD assumptions to 1.9% and 85.0%, respectively, based on the current portfolio composition as of the March 2022 payment date.

CREDIT ENHANCEMENT
Subordination is provided by the respective junior tranches. As of the March 2022 payment date, credit enhancement to the Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, and Class E Notes increased to 15.6%, 11.0%, 7.9%, 3.4%, and 2.2% from 10.0%, 7.0%, 5.0%, 2.4%, and 1.3% as at the third retranching date in April 2021, respectively.

The transaction benefits from a nonamortising cash reserve, which provides liquidity support to the Rated Notes and credit support upon the legal final maturity date. The liquidity reserve is currently at its target level of EUR 30.0 million.

Elavon Financial Services DAC (Elavon) acts as the account bank for the transaction. Based on DBRS Morningstar’s private rating on Elavon, the downgrade provisions outlined in the transaction documents, and other mitigating factors inherent in the transaction structure, DBRS Morningstar considers the risk arising from the exposure to the account bank to be consistent with the rating assigned to the Class A Notes, as described in DBRS Morningstar's "Legal Criteria for European Structured Finance Transactions" methodology.

To assess the impact of changing the transaction parameters on the ratings, DBRS Morningstar considered the following stress scenarios as compared with the parameters used to determine the ratings (the Base Case):

-- DBRS Morningstar expected a lifetime base case PD and LGD for the pool based on a review of the current assets. Adverse changes to asset performance may cause stresses to base case assumptions and therefore have a negative effect on credit ratings.
-- The base case PD and LGD of the current pool of loans for the Issuer are 1.9% and 85.0%, respectively.
-- The risk sensitivity overview below illustrates the ratings expected if the PD and LGD increase by a certain percentage over the base case assumption. For example, if the LGD increases by 50%, the rating of the Class A Notes would be expected to remain at AAA(sf), assuming no change in the PD. If the PD increases by 50%, the rating of the Class A Notes would be expected to remain at AAA (sf), assuming no change in the LGD. Furthermore, if both the PD and LGD increase by 50%, the rating of the Class A Notes would be expected to fall to AA (high) (sf).
