DBRS Morningstar Publishes Final Global Corporate Methodology for Rating Pharmaceutical Companies

DBRS Morningstar finalized its “Rating Companies in the Pharmaceuticals Industry,” which hereafter will be entitled “Global Methodology for Rating Companies in the Pharmaceuticals Industry” (the Methodology).

The Methodology is new and presents the criteria for which DBRS Morningstar ratings are assigned and/or monitored for both patented and generic drug companies.

Per the press release “DBRS Morningstar Requests Comments on Proposed Methodology for Rating Companies in the Pharmaceuticals Industry,” dated August 18, 2022, the Methodology had been released on a request for comment basis. The comment period ended September 1, 2022, and no comments were received.

In accordance with the discussion in the press release entitled “DBRS Morningstar Publishes Five Final Corporate Methodologies and Clarifies Geographic Scope of Certain Corporate Methodologies” dated August 29, 2022, the title of this Methodology has changed from the title released on August 18, 2022.

All comments received during the request for comment period have been published to the DBRS Morningstar website, except in cases where confidentiality is requested by the respondent.
