DBRS Morningstar Publishes Final Global Methodology for Rating Companies in the Railway Industry

DBRS Morningstar finalized its “Global Methodology for Rating Companies in the Railway Industry” (the Methodology). The Methodology presents the criteria for which railway company ratings are assigned and/or monitored.

The Methodology supersedes the prior version, whose name has changed in accordance with the discussion in the press release entitled “DBRS Morningstar Publishes Five Final Corporate Methodologies and Clarifies Geographic Scope of Certain Corporate Methodologies” dated August 29, 2022. The prior version was published on January 20, 2022, and is effective as of March 28, 2023.

Per the press release dated January 31, 2023, the Methodology was released on a request for comment basis so that it can be used by lead analysts located in the EU and/or UK. No comments were received during the request for comment period which ended March 2, 2023. DBRS Morningstar deems the update not to be material and has determined that no ratings are expected to change as a result of this update.

All comments received during the request for comment period have been published to the DBRS Morningstar website, except in cases where confidentiality is requested by the respondent.
