FRANKFURT, May 2, 2024 -- DBRS Ratings GmbH (Morningstar DBRS) and Deutsche Bundesbank signed an agreement under the framework of the Eurosystem Procurement Coordination Office (EPCO) to renew a full subscription to RatingsNow, effective May 2, 2024. RatingsNow is an automated ratings feed of Morningstar DBRS’ ratings universe and fully integrable into organizations’ internal databases.

“Today’s agreement will ensure delivery of high-quality credit ratings data to additional members of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB), and Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), and other institutions covered by EPCO,” said Detlef Scholz, Morningstar DBRS President. “The incorporation of Morningstar DBRS’ credit ratings data is expected to support opinion diversity and depth to financial evaluations conducted by participating EPCO members.”

Borja Romaguera, Vice President of Morningstar DBRS Business Development, added: “Our expanded data relationship with EPCO members will help support both investor and issuer services, providing access and acceptance of Morningstar DBRS credit ratings across key Eurosystem stakeholders.”

While this new agreement extends the access to RatingsNow to additional EPCO members, these members already had and continue to have access to Morningstar DBRS’ various other products such as research, issuer reports and other credit insights.

In Europe, Morningstar DBRS rates the majority of Eurozone sovereigns, and many of the leading banking groups and corporations, in addition to a large portion of structured finance transactions. Morningstar DBRS is the key provider of European structured finance ratings and research, not only in the markets and asset classes, where it has been recurrently the market leader. Considering Morningstar DBRS’ decades-long leadership in Canada, it is now aiming to build a similar status for corporate finance ratings in Europe where it has impressively invested and increased its coverage step-by-step, not only in the number of issuers it rates but also in the variety of corporate finance subsectors it evaluates.
