Global ABS 2024 Conference: Key Takeaways

At the Global ABS 2024 conference, more than 4,800 participants in the European structured finance community gathered in Barcelona from 4 June to 6 June for three days filled with networking, insights, and lots of branded swag. The mood was positive, especially with the amount of European securitisation issuance this year. May 2024 was the strongest issuance month in European securitisation since the global financial crisis. At this midyear point, the general outlook for the rest of 2024 is cautiously optimistic, with uncertainty around upcoming elections and geopolitical risk. In addition to issuance trends, the other two key topics discussed at the conference were how the main asset classes have performed so far and the rise in various private credit products.
