Morningstar DBRS Publishes Final Oil and Gas, Oilfield Services, Pipeline and Midstream Energy Methodology

Morningstar DBRS finalized its "Global Methodology for Rating Companies in the Oil and Gas, Oilfield Services, Pipeline and Midstream Energy Industries" methodology (the Methodology). The Methodology presents the criteria for which oil and gas, oilfield services, pipeline and midstream energy company ratings are assigned and/or monitored.

The Methodology supersedes the prior versions published on April 15, 2024 and is effective as of August 12, 2024.

Per the press release dated July 3, 2024, Morningstar DBRS requested comments on the Methodology. The comment period ended on August 2, 2024 and no comments were received.

Morningstar DBRS deems the update not to be material and determined that no ratings are expected to change as a result of this update.

All comments received during the request for comment period have been published to the Morningstar DBRS website, except in cases where confidentiality is requested by the respondent.
