Morningstar DBRS Requests Comments on Proposed Update to Its Global Corporate Criteria
Energy, Services, ConsumersMorningstar DBRS is requesting comments on the proposed update to its "Morningstar DBRS Global Corporate Criteria" (the Global Corporate Criteria), which may, upon the close of the Request for Comment period, supersede the current version published on April 15, 2024.
This proposed update is being published in connection with the Fundamentals Methodological Integration Project (see announcement dated October 30, 2023, for more details: https://dbrs.morningstar.com/research/422623).
The proposed Global Corporate Criteria includes additional transparency on how we assign recovery ratings and how we evaluate corporate liquidity. In addition, the holding company section has a new appendix that discusses when we may apply an additional industry-specific methodology or industry supplement within the same methodology.
While there are no significant changes to the analytical approach, we deem the proposed update to be material. No outstanding credit ratings are expected to change as a result of this proposed update.
We have also published Requests for Comment on two proposed methodologies, "Global Methodology for Rating Companies in Services Industries" and "Global Methodology for Rating Companies in Manufacturing and Production Industries," which can be found at https://dbrs.morningstar.com/research/444330.
Comments should be received on or before January 6, 2025. Please submit your comments to the following email address:
