Morningstar DBRS Publishes Final Global Methodology for Rating Project Finance

Morningstar DBRS finalized its "Global Methodology for Rating Project Finance" (the Methodology).

The Methodology presents the criteria for which credit ratings on project finance (including, but not limited to, wind and solar project financings) are assigned and/or monitored.

As discussed in our press release dated September 30, 2024, the Methodology supersedes the prior version published on April 15, 2024, as well as two other methodologies now incorporated herein, namely "Global Methodology for Rating Wind Power Projects" and "Global Methodology for Rating Solar Power Projects," each also dated April 15, 2024. The Methodology is effective as of December 10, 2024.

The comment period closed on October 30, 2024, and no comments were received during the request for comment period. Morningstar DBRS does not expect the updated Methodology to lead to changes to any credit ratings. All comments received during the request for comment period have been published to the Morningstar DBRS website, except in cases where confidentiality is requested by the respondent.
