Morningstar DBRS Releases Q4 2024 Canadian Consumer Credit Indicators

DBRS Limited (Morningstar DBRS) released its review of consumer credit in Canada (the Consumer Credit Indicators) for Q4 2024. The Consumer Credit Indicators evaluate various types of consumer credit and their performance as well as additional metrics for the United States for comparison.

Morningstar DBRS updates the Consumer Credit Indicators quarterly, including several key consumer-related performance metrics, such as the household debt-to-personal disposable income ratio, household debt service ratio, unemployment rate, consumer insolvencies, personal saving rate, consumer credit growth and source of funding, and performance and losses of consumer-related obligations in securitizations, such as home equity lines of credit, credit cards, and auto loans. Morningstar DBRS will continue to review the contents of the Consumer Credit Indicators and may provide additional information in the future.
