The loans were mainly granted by Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. (BMPS), while 10.7% of the portfolio was originated by Banca Antonveneta S.p.A., Banca Agricola Mantovana S.p.A and Banca Toscana S.p.A. before and after their integration into BMPS.
