DBRS today has published its Legal Criteria for U.S. Structured Finance Transactions. The methodology provides greater transparency to the ratings process by outlining to market participants the principal legal criteria DBRS applies when rating a structured finance or structured credit transaction. While each structured transaction is unique and new variations continue to emerge, there are a number of legal criteria common to all U.S. structured finance transactions.

The criteria report covers the following topics:

•Understanding Bankruptcy Risks
•Special Purpose Entities
•Trust Indenture and Indenture Trustee
•Credit Enhancement
•Servicing and Collection Accounts
•Asset-Specific Considerations

DBRS criteria and methodologies are publicly available on its website www.dbrs.com under Methodologies.
