DBRS Publishes New and Updated ABS Operational Risk Methodologies

DBRS, Inc. (DBRS) has today published a new methodology entitled “Operational Risk Assessment for U.S. ABS Originators” and has updated its methodology “Operational Risk Assessment for U.S. ABS Servicers.” The updated methodology, effective as of the date of this press release, supersedes the previous version dated May 2012.

In this update, DBRS moved the originator and servicer sections from the rating methodologies, as applicable, to two stand-alone methodologies, “Operational Risk Assessment for U.S. ABS Originators” and “Operational Risk Assessment for U.S. ABS Servicers,” respectively. The two operational risk assessment methodologies are being published as a result of DBRS’s update to its Internal Assessments Global Policy.

No other significant changes were made to the existing methodology. DBRS does not deem the methodology update to be material and does not expect any rating actions as a result of this update.
