Xstrata plc

Summary Xstrata plc and its related subsidiaries were the fifth-largest diversified mining group in the world, with a meaningful position in the production of copper, thermal and coking coal, ferrochrome, nickel, vanadium, platinum group metals and zinc, together with various byproducts. Xstrata was also involved in iron ore projects, recycling facilities and technology dispersion. In May 2013, Xstrata entered into a merger with Glencore International plc to form Glencore Xstrata plc., which in May 2014, was renamed to Glencore plc.
