DBRS Rates FortisAlberta Inc.’s New Issue at A (low), Stable Trend

DBRS has today assigned a rating of A (low) with a Stable trend to FortisAlberta Inc.’s (FortisAlberta) proposed $125 million issue of 3.98% Unsecured Medium-Term Notes (MTNs) maturing on October 23, 2052. The MTNs are expected to settle on October 23, 2012.
The MTNs will rank equally, except as to sinking funds, with all other present and future unsecured and unsubordinated senior obligations of FortisAlberta. Net proceeds from the issue will be used to repay certain existing indebtedness under FortisAlberta’s credit facilities and for other corporate purposes.
